If you are searching for Tabata for beginners then this post is going to help you enter the world of Tabata and break a lot of sweat.
Tabata seems to be the hot new thing in the fitness world and for good reason because it is pretty awesome. High-Intensity Interval Traning (HITT) is one of the most effective forms of exercise that you can do because it puts your body through a wide range of motion in such a short period of time.
Make no mistake, no matter what your fitness level is if you go about with HIIT workouts you are going to tire yourself out because the goal is to push yourself as hard as you can in short bursts of time.
What Is Tabata?
Tabata is an HIIT workout that features exercises that last four minutes. That is one of the things that makes it so appealing.
It was discovered by a Japanese scientist, Dr. Izumi Tabata.
Tabata and his team conducted research on two groups of athletes:
- The first group trained at a moderate intensity level and worked out five days over a total of six weeks. Each workout lasted one hour.
- The second group trained at a high-intensity level and work out for fours day over a total of six weeks. Each workout lasted four minutes and 20 seconds.
The results were that the first group had increased their aerobic (cardiovascular) system but showed very little progress in their anaerobic (muscle) system.
The second group showed much more increase in their aerobic system than Group 1 and increased their anaerobic system by 28 percent.
This shows that HIIT has more impact on both the aerobic and anaerobic systems.
