You know that I am always on the lookout for ways to lose weight for lazy people. It’s not that I am lazy it’s just that I have a lot of other stuff going on.
I know you do to so that means we can use all of the help that we can get.
A pound here and a pound there really leads to some progress. You won’t notice it right away but that doesn’t matter. If you want to notice weight loss do a 7-day binge in a sweat loss only drinking hot sauce.
If you want to be a bit more pragmatic then this is a good approach.
The idea behind taking these awesome substances is that they help to trigger certain reactions in your body. Not the type that makes you run to the bathroom but things like metabolism.
If you can increase your metabolism you can increase the rate that your body starts to burn fat and therefore lose weight.
That’s the theory behind taking these things.
Now, the title says a spoonful and that is more or less correct. Some things you might need to take a little bit more and some a little bit less.
All of them you will want to add to something like water.
Taking a spoonful of cinnamon should only be reserved for people that want to do stupid things on Youtube.
You aren’t stupid.
Ready to begin? Let’s do it!
7 One Spoonful Tricks to Help You Lose Weight Quick
I would advise you not to try and combine all of these things into one crazy potion but if you are able to pull it off please let me know how!
1. A Spoonful of Dark Cacao Powder for Antioxidants
Dark cacao powder is awesome because it is packed with antioxidants.
These work wonders on your skin and heart and those are two things we all need.
Please don’t think that drinking chocolate milk or Yoohoo acts as the same thing. Those two drinks are so pumped full of sugar that you might as well inject sugar straight into your bloodstream with a needle.
You probably don’t want to take a spoonful of it straight up. Instead, add a spoonful into your smoothie or if you want a healthy version of hot chocolate then add it to a glass of hot water.
2. A Spoonful of Coconut Oil to Burn More Fat
With the amount of coconut oil that my family has gone through over the past year you would swear that we owned stock in coconut farms (do those exist?).
Coconut oil seems to be an all-around awesome source for everything. Eat it, drink it, wear it, or do whatever with it. Anything you can think of has already been done with it and it’s probably extremely healthy for you.
Coconut oil contains something called medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) which help to increase energy expenditure. One study has shown that 15-30g of MCTs per day increased the 24-hour energy expenditure by 5%. That may not sound like a lot, but that equates to 130 calories per day.
For all of the ladies in the house, I have some really good news for you. In another study of 40 women with abdominal obesity, supplementing 30 mL of coconut oil per day led to a reduction in waist circumference in a 12-week period.
How should you go about consuming coconut oil? Just get a tablespoon straight from the jar and eat it.
Simple as that.
3. A Spoonful of Lemon Juice for Vitamin C
Lemon is an awesome zero-calorie food to consume so it only makes sense that lemon juice is just as awesome.
One of the best ways to start your morning is by drinking a glass of lemon water. This can help minimize your morning cravings while also having the added benefits of boosting your immune system, hydrating the body, and boosting brain function.
All you need to do is add 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon into 8oz of water.
4. A Spoonful of Matcha Green Tea Powder for Fat Burning
Who doesn’t like tea?
My husband for one but he is kind of an oddball.
I love tea in all forms.
Most you know the benefits of green tea and how great it is for the body. Matcha powder is like the little secret tea that most people haven’t heard about.
It’s a unique tea that is grown in the hills of Japan. It’s really fancy because when the leaves are growing, the amount of light given to them is controlled so that means the plants need to produce more chlorophyll. This causes them to get a bright green hue.
That’s cool but what can this stuff help with?
The body’s process of burning calories is called thermogenesis. The rate at which your body usually does this is between 8% – 10%. With matcha powder, this number jumps up to 35% – 43%! That’s a bit of crazy math going on but obviously, the better your body is at burning calories the better you can feel when looking in the mirror.
All you need to do is add a spoonful to some warm water and you are good to go.
5. A Spoonful of Cinnamon for Better Blood Sugar Levels
This one always throws me for a loop because cinnamon is sweet so I always think that anything that you consume that is sweet will raise your blood sugar levels.
Apparently, that isn’t the case. Cinnamon actually helps to regulate your blood sugar levels and this is important because it can help to prevent cravings that might occur from a sugar crash.
I tried to eat nothing but Cinnabon for a week because cinnamon is so good for you but that didn’t have the results that I expected.
Instead, you can add a spoonful of cinnamon to almost anything you eat that you think it will go well with. Of course is awesome in smoothies as well. If you want to kill two birds with one stone then add it to your morning lemon water.
6. A Spoonful of Cayenne Pepper for Increased Metabolism
Mmmmmm, spicy foods are the best aren’t they?
Cayenne pepper is great because it contains a powerful nutrient called capsaicin. This nutrient is great for burning fat because it does two things really well:
- Increases metabolism by heating up the body
- Stops cravings from occuring
Remember, better metabolism equals better weight loss. If you can’t handle spicy foods nobody is saying you need to eat volcano wings right off the bat. Move up to medium and slowly progress over time. Keep the almond milk handy, though. You never know when your tongue might fall off.
If you don’t have any cayenne pepper laying around (shame on you) then throw a little Sriracha on your eggs. Don’t have Sriracha or cayenne pepper? Double shame on you.
7. A Spoonful of Fish Oil for Better Blood Flow
Fish oil has always weirded me out. Not because of what it is but because of the name.
Fish oil has been used since the dawn of time it feels like. It’s one of the most well-researched supplements around. Here are some of the benefits that people have found with fish oil:
- Reduces inflammation
- Thickens hair
- Improved skin
- Increased heart health
- Improved digestion
- Joint pain reduction
It is suggested that you get 1000mg of fish oil daily. You can do that through supplements or by eating more fish like salmon, tuna, cod, and halibut.
Just a Spoonful of…
You see, there is nothing crazy here, but it’s amazing how a simple spoonful of something can help to do amazing things to our bodies.
On the other hand, just a spoonful of other things can turn our insides into mush so don’t think that just because you are only taking in a spoonful of sugar that it isn’t going to hurt anybody.
Doing that daily can really mess up any progress that you hope to achieve.
