Because this is a safe space and we are honest with each other I am going to tell you that I’ve not tasted all 10 of these protein powders. I’ve tasted and tested some and the others I have done research on by reading a ton of reviews and reading what other sites are saying about them.
This isn’t an exact science but once you find a good tasting it’s hard to let it go.
Protein powder is one of those supplements that is misunderstood by a lot of people. The reason why is because most of the times you hear about it, it involves some huge guy who just spent 6 hours in the gym.
While every gym body takes protein powder it’s not just meant for those types.
Protein powder is meant for everybody because we all need more high-quality protein in our lives and it can be hard to get it unless you like eating pounds of cod each day.
Many people don’t get enough protein and therefore their bodies don’t have the necessary building blocks for lean muscle mass. When your body can’t build lean muscle mass then it isn’t going to bother to burn fat.
This is why protein powder is an essential supplement for anybody looking to lose weight and look fabulous.
The problem with protein powder is that they aren’t created equal. Some are high in sugars while others don’t pack as much protein as you want.
In this post, I hope to share with you what I believe to be the top 10 best tasting and best for you protein powders on the market. This post will be constantly updated as I find out new things because the protein powder market is constantly changing.
Because everyone has different tastes it is quite possible that what I like the best isn’t what you like the best. What’s great about protein powders though is that many of them take on whatever flavors you add to them.
They are like tofu.
Sure they have their own flavors (chocolate, vanilla, etc.) but when you get into making smoothies you quickly find that a smoothie can take on any exotic flavor that you want.
You’ll see this one on a lot of lists because it really is awesome. Fitmiss is specifically created for women.
It uses whey protein that can be absorbed quickly and it also adds Solathin which is supposed to aid in weight loss.
If you don’t know who Jamie Eason is then here is some quick background:
So to say she is awesome would be an understatement.
Her protein powder doesn’t come in crazy flavors like you’ll see with the other powders on this list but that just means you have more room to be creative with your flavors. It also comes in a nice resealable bag if that is your thing.
The first protein powder on the list that really does sound like it was crafted in a laboratory.
This awesome powder packs an amazing 25g of protein per serving doesn’t include lactose, fat, or sugar.
What does the fancy word hydrolyzed mean? It means that the powder is fast absorbing so if that is a concern for you then this is a good option to scoop (get it?) up.
This protein powder wins two awards:
Not bad!
Besides that, this is a great protein powder that promotes lean muscle growth, curbs appetite, and acts as a great energy source if you like to do High Intensity Training.
It’s packed with amazing 28g of protein and specifically formulated to promote lean muscle growth. It’s really hard to go wrong if you choose this as your protein powder.
This is a serious looking product! It’s packed with 25g of protein and has a minimal amount of fat and carbs.
I stay away from this one just because I don’t like the packaging. Superficial? Maybe, but that’s how I choose things sometimes.
This is the one I’ve been trying out lately and I’m really enjoying it. The Snickerdoodle flavor is outstanding with water!
Losing weight without getting the right amount of protein daily is pretty hard.
Protein is a great source of energy and contains the amino acids necessary to build lean muscle mass. There is simply no way you are going to eat 20lbs of cod a day to get the necessary protein.
Plus, you can include protein powder in everything!
Oatmeal? Check.
Cookies? Check.
Smoothies? Check.
Don’t limit yourself to a plain glass of water with some protein powder thrown in although this works as a great meal replacement. Try to find a number of creative ways to get more protein powder in your life.
Be careful of the carbs that some of them carry. Although carbs aren’t the end of the world, if you aren’t working hard to burn them off then you might find you’re gaining weight in a negative way.
Even on the ketogenic diet we use some of the protein powders in the list for our recipes.
